About the Creator

Alice Staley

Drawing on decades of experience in gifted education, Montessori learning and cognitive enrichment, educator Alice Staley has created an inspiring approach to lifelong mental fitness for older adults. As founder of the highly successful Better Brains: Enhancing Mature Minds program, Staley has helped hundreds of adults remain mentally active, confident, socially engaged and intellectually curious.

Her innovative work led to the creation of a remarkable eight-book series of lesson plans containing creative, stimulating and thought-provoking activities to encourage cognitive vitality and lifelong learning. Grounded in research and shaped by years of experience, Staley’s approach combines proven educational principles with fun, accessible activities that participants genuinely enjoy.

Whether used at senior centers, libraries, parks and recreation facilities or senior living communities, this engaging brain-boosting program offers meaningful opportunities for connection, confidence and continued growth at every stage of life.

Alice Staley holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Northern Arizona University, a Master of Education degree from the University of Arizona and a Montessori Certification.

Alice Staley served for many years as a teacher and director of Gifted and Talented Programs. She was hired by the Juvenile Courts to develop programs to improve the outcome for incarcerated youth and those on probation. The highly successful Better Brains: Enhancing Mature Minds program for older adults is her latest project. It is helping countless learners stay mentally active, confident and engaged.
